The Pulse Agent is a lightweight, read-only Windows service. Here's the full picture.

Does

  • Reads iVend database via SQL views (SELECT only)
  • Collects server metrics (CPU, disk, memory, services)
  • Pushes encrypted snapshots to Pulse cloud every 5 minutes
  • Runs as a Windows service (auto-start, auto-restart)

Does NOT

  • Write to your database (no INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE)
  • Modify iVend configuration
  • Access customer PII (no names, emails, payment data)
  • Require inbound network ports (outbound HTTPS only)
  • Need iVend application changes
