Running Audits
How to trigger, review, and export audit results.
The audit timeline
The Audit Timeline is a chronological record of every health check event, configuration change, and compliance attestation in your Pulse account. It provides an evidence trail for internal audits and regulatory reviews.
What gets recorded
- Health check results: Every snapshot the agent pushes generates check results that are timestamped and stored
- Score changes: When your overall grade or any dimension score changes, the event is logged with before/after values
- Compliance attestations: When a team member marks a control as attested, the action, user, and note are recorded
- Configuration changes: Changes to alert rules, team members, or billing are logged
Filtering and searching
Use the filter controls at the top of the timeline to narrow results:
- Date range: Select start and end dates
- Event type: Filter by health checks, score changes, attestations, or configuration
- Dimension: Filter events by specific health dimension
- Severity: Show only critical, warning, or informational events
Exporting
Click Export CSV to download the filtered timeline as a spreadsheet. The CSV includes all columns: timestamp, event type, dimension, severity, description, user, and details. This is useful for importing into your own audit tools or sharing with auditors.
Retention
Audit timeline retention depends on your tier: Standard keeps 30 days, Pro keeps 90 days, and Managed keeps 365 days. Events beyond the retention window are archived but can be retrieved on request for Managed tier customers.
