What Ask Pulse is
Ask Pulse is the chat surface. In v4.1.1, Pulse AI is offered as a feature on top of paid Infra tiers — it is no longer sold as a standalone module. If you had a standalone Pulse AI subscription before v4.1.1, it was converted automatically to the bundled Infra add-on.
How it works
Three components: Claude (Anthropic) as the reasoner, the Model Context Protocol (MCP) bridging Claude to your tenant aggregates, and a retail grounding layer teaching Claude about iVend concepts — replication, EOD, loyalty, ERP.
What it can and cannot see
- Can see: Aggregated operational metrics — the same shape as portal tiles.
- Cannot see: Raw transactions, customer PII, payment data.
- Cannot do: Write actions. Ask Pulse is read-only by design.

The previous global 600/hour tenant cap was retired in PR-09. Limits are now per-user daily, which is better for multi-user teams.
Using Ask Pulse well
- Be specific. "Which stores have replication queues over 100?" beats "how's replication?"
- Name stores. Ask Pulse knows your store names.
- Ask for actions. "What should I do about the failing checks at Store 3?" returns actionable guidance.
- Follow up. Ask Pulse retains the last few turns in context.
