Connecting Your First Agent

Download, install, and verify the agent connection.

Overview

After setting up your organization, the next step is connecting the Pulse Agent to your iVend server. This is the bridge that sends operational data from your on-premises systems to Pulse cloud.

Getting your install token

The onboarding wizard provides your install token after the subdomain step. You can also find it later at Account → Agent. The token is a long string that uniquely identifies your Pulse account.

Installing the agent

Follow the detailed steps in Installing the Pulse Agent. The short version:

  1. Download the installer from the link in the onboarding wizard
  2. Run as administrator on your iVend HQ server
  3. Enter the install token and SQL Server connection string
  4. Click Install — the agent starts as a Windows service

Verifying the connection

After installation, Pulse waits for the first agent snapshot. This typically arrives within 60 seconds. You'll see:

  • A green "Connected" indicator on the onboarding page
  • Your health score populated on the Command Center
  • Store and POS data appearing in the fleet pages

If the agent doesn't connect within 5 minutes, check the troubleshooting section in the agent installation guide.

What happens next

Once connected, the agent pushes snapshots every 5 minutes automatically. No further configuration is needed. You can now:
